Las Vegas will be buzzing once again this weekend as UFC Flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo gets set to headline the last pay-per-view card of 2020 after fighting just three weeks ago.
A fighter who is willing to jump into the octagon on just 21 days rest is likely one of two things: extremely desperate or supremely confident. Figueiredo almost assuredly falls into the second category as he prepares to defend his belt at UFC 256.
In fairness, Brandon Moreno, Figueiredo's opponent in Saturday's main event, had the same amount of time to prepare after fighting less than three weeks ago and there was no way he was turning down a chance at the champ.
Unfortunately, there has already been a shake up on this card with the Tecia Torres-Angela Hill and the Li Jingliang-Dwight Grant matchups getting scrapped due to positive COVID-19 tests.
Saturday's card will begin at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+/ESPN2 with prelims and a five-fight main slate that starts at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN PPV.
