- Norma Dumont meets big underdog Danyelle Wolf to close out the early prelims at UFC 279.
- Wolf is just 1-0 as a pro but will look to pull off the upset in the UFC's shallowest division.
- Sean Zerillo has two prop bets for the women's featherweight fight.
Norma Dumont vs. Danyelle Wolf Odds
The early prelims close out with a women’s featherweight bout between Norma Dumont and big underdog Danyelle Wolf.
Wolf, a boxer, won her lone MMA fight – at a recent Contender Series event – to punch her ticket to the UFC, where she’ll fight Dumont in the organization’s shallowest weight class.
How do break down a fight with so many unknowns? Let’s give it a shot.
Tale of the Tape
|Avg. Fight Time||14:42||15:00|
|Weight (pounds)||145 lbs.||145 lbs.|
|Date of birth||10/1/1990||9/8/1983|

|SS Absorbed Per Min||2.19||5.67|
|Take Down Avg||1.02||0.00.|
Wolf, a decorated amateur boxing champion, has extremely limited MMA experience: that one win at a Dana White’s Contender Series event in 2020. She’s 38, and her current skill level – besides her boxing – is a complete mystery.
While Wolf should have success both at distance (three-inch reach advantage) and in the pocket against Dumont, her ground game is likely extremely underdeveloped, and her opponent may only need one takedown to finish the fight.
Dumont isn’t much of a finisher, but she does carry fairly significant power and has strong top pressure. Unfortunately, she’s not always reliable to wrestle (2.2 takedown attempts per 15 minutes), and she’s a relatively low-volume striker.
Dumont must pursue the grappling and look for a finish on the mat to justify her steep pricetag.
Dumont vs. Wolf Pick
While I don’t see value in either side of the moneyline or the total, Dumont to win by submission (projected +325, listed +420 at FanDuel) will absolutely make my card.
And depending upon the price, I would also bet Dumont to win Inside the Distance (projected +220, listed +240 at FanDuel) since a positional TKO is a likely possibility.
The Picks: Norma Dumont wins Inside the Distance (+240, 0.25u at FanDuel) | Norma Dumont wins by Submission (+420, 0.1u at FanDuel)
