Knicks vs Clippers NBA Preview
This is the third game of the Knicks' five-game road trip, and they are coming off one of their worst outings in their recent stretch of play, which has been mostly really good.
The Knicks' defense was good enough to win yesterday against the Lakers. They forced Luka Doncic and company to take difficult shots and limited them to just 110 points.
The problem was, the Knicks scored just 97 points, tied for their fourth-lowest output of the season, while shooting just 42 percent from the field and 23.5 percent from three-point range.
The Knicks are 16-6 with the NBA's best net rating and No. 1 defense since January 21.
The Clippers have gone 25-11 since starting the season 6-21, and are a borderline guarantee to make the play-in.
At this point, the Clippers' surge can land them in the playoffs, as they are ninth in the Western Conference and just a game out of No. 8.
Injuries: John Collins (neck), Yanic Konan Niederhauser (foot), and Bradley Beal (hip) are out for the Clippers.
Mitchell Robinson (rest) and Deuce McBride (core) are expected to be out for the Knicks.
Knicks vs Clippers Predictions, Betting Analysis
Joe Dellera gave this a shout on our Buckets podcast last night, and it's something we have both looked at during the season with Robinson sidelined: Karl-Anthony Towns' rebounds.
The Knicks are on the second of a back-to-back, meaning Robinson — who played in yesterday's loss to the Lakers — will sit.
Towns is facing a Clippers team on the other side with Brook Lopez down low, one of the weaker rebounding centers of his generation — who is in year 18 — and Isaiah Jackson, who is listed at 6-foot-8, 205 pounds.
If KAT doesn't go over on rebounds, then something went terribly wrong. He has no excuse to come up short tonight.
Pick: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 12.5 Rebounds (-130)
