Thunder vs Bulls NBA Preview
Our projections for this game are calling for around 32 Points + Rebounds + Assists for Josh Giddey in tonight's matchup against the Thunder.
That number doesn’t even account for adjustments to the Bulls’ new-look roster following the trade deadline.
Giddey's minutes could come down slightly if there’s risk of a blowout — but overall, the situation sets up well.
We’re seeing some key absences for the Bulls: no Anfernee Simons, no Jaden Ivey, and with Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu moved, there’s a clear uptick in usage available among Chicago's rotation.
On top of that, Giddey’s rebounding rate has been strong as of late.
Last game, he logged 32 minutes — his first time playing 30+ minutes since December 26. That’s pretty notable. Giddey missed time, of course. But even before that, he logged several games in the sub-30-minute range.
So, seeing him back at 32 minutes was encouraging.
We will need this game to stay relatively competitive to ensure he’s on the floor in the fourth quarter — or at least the back half of it.
Playing time could fluctuate, but with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Isaiah Hartenstein already ruled out for Oklahoma City, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Thunder take a softer approach here.
We’ve seen them rest veterans in certain spots — maybe Lu Dort gets the night off, maybe Alex Caruso joins him.
Thunder vs Bulls Predictions, Betting Analysis
For those who like a narrative angle, Giddey facing his former team adds a little extra intrigue.
It’s not something I personally factor into projections, but it’s fun to mention and consider when picking spots.
The bottom line is, Giddey is already projecting around 32 PRA in this spot, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that number climb a bit once the books fully adjust for usage and on/off splits with all the gaps in the Bulls' rotation at the moment.
Pick: Josh Giddey Over 29.5 Points, Rebound and Assists (-112)
