76ers vs Bucks NBA Preview
Last night, the 76ers fell 121-112 at home to the Raptors. They took a lead into halftime, but the Raptors flipped the game with a 44-26 edge in the third quarter.
V. J. Edgecombe and Quentin Grimes both scored 21 points, while Andre Drummond recorded a double-double for the fifth consecutive game.
Tyrese Maxey led the team in scoring again, but was held under 25 points for the first time this season.
He was efficient (8-for-14 from the field), but also took his fewest field-goal attempts of the year. I would not expect that to last long.
The Sixers were also a bit shorthanded without Kelly Oubre Jr., Joel Embiid and Paul George.
Embiid is still dealing with soreness in his right knee and was listed as doubtful for yesterday's game, while Oubre will miss at least two weeks.
Philadelphia has not submitted an injury report yet after the back-to-back, but they might only get George back tonight.
They will not get any sympathy from the Bucks, who will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The former two-time MVP scored 14 points against Cleveland on Monday before leaving in the second quarter with a groin injury, and he will miss at least two weeks.
He is averaging 31.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game this season, leaving big shoes to fill.
Outside of his dominance, the Bucks already have a balanced attack.
Ryan Rollins is second on the team with 17.3 points and 5.4 assists per game. He is also leading the team with 1.7 steals per game.
Gary Trent Jr. and AJ Green could also be in for big games behind the arc.
Philadelphia is allowing the fourth-most points (24.2) and fifth-most 3s (3.8) per game to shooting guards.
Green is averaging 10.9 points per game while Trent is at 10.2, and both are attempting over six 3-pointers per game, more than 60% of their shots.
76ers vs Bucks Prediction, Betting Analysis
Rollins enters this game having scored 20 points in four of his last six outings.
However, in two full games without Antetokounmpo this season, he has posted 25 and 32 points. He also finished with 24 points after Antetokounmpo was ruled out on Monday.
The 76ers present a strong matchup for him because they allow the most points per game to pick-and-roll ball handlers (19.7) and the third-most points in transition (28.8).
He has also recorded at least four assists in 11 of his last 12 games and at least three rebounds in nine of them.
With his usage tonight, he should be able to reach 32 PRA, a mark he has hit in three of his last four games.
Maxey has also been a PRA darling this season, as he has reached 35+ in every game. He has recorded 38 PRA in four of his last meetings with Milwaukee, scoring 30 points in each of those games.
Should Embiid sit again, Drummond is an automatic bet for a double-double, with five straight and six in his last seven.
Drummond has pulled down 10 rebounds in each of his last four games against Milwaukee, which is allowing the fifth-most points per game to pick-and-roll men.
