Stars will be without Rantanen, potentially Hintz, and all 3 of their top D played big minutes at the Olympics and got into the medal round leaving a bad travelling schedule. DeSmith also starting in goal, though I don't really downgrade Dallas over that given that he's been as good Oettinger the last two years. Hate having to count on the Kraken, but I think we could see some wonky slates initially out of the break and this game seems to be a potential letdown spot.

Quenneville to win coach of the year was the first future I posted for this season, and I'm surprised their start hasn't moved this number more. I was high on the idea that Anaheim's roster could pop off with a sharper coach, specifically because Cronin was terrible. Ducks will slow down some the rest of the way, but I always thought that even grabbing a playoff spot would give Quenneville a good chance- unless oddsmakers are confident that many voters won't vote for Q because of his past, which is a valid concern.
