The Houston Astros are in Pittsburgh to battle their former NL Central rival Pirates. They began the series with a 8-2 victory last night. Yordan Alvarez led the way with two RBI. Tonight, he is in a good spot to do damage again.

The Toronto Blue Jays began the year on a 10-game road trip, but tonight they will have their home opener against the Detroit Tigers. That is music to the years of Matt Chapman. He has began the year on a hot streak, but last season he enjoyed hitting at the Rogers Centre even more.

Another hot hitter is Mookie Betts. He enjoyed a big game last night as the Dodgers beat the rival Giants for the 14th time in the last 15 meetings. Betts has had a ton of success against Alex Wood in his career. Another big night could be in store for him.

Here's how I'm playing all three hitters' props on Tuesday night.

MLB Player Props For Tuesday, April 11

Yordan Alvarez To Record A RBI +120

Astros vs. Pirates

Yordan Alvarez is off to another hot start to begin his 2023 season. He is hitting .333 with three home runs, a league-leading 16 RBI and an 1.082 OPS. That is impressive considering the Astros are beginning this season without one of the best leadoff men in the league in Jose Altuve. However, the Astros still have several potent bats in from such as Jeremy Pena and Alex Bregman. Chas McCormick has come on over the last few games as well.

Alvarez is a candidate to drive himself in every time he steps in the batter's box. PNC Park is not the greatest park in the world for home runs, but Alvarez can hit it out of anywhere. For him to record a RBI, we don't need Alvarez to hit a home run– or even get a hit for that matter. A sacrifice fly would cash this prop for us, which is a possibility if Alvarez gets a hold of a deep drive, but the park holds it in.

Following last night's game, Alvarez has recorded a RBI in seven of the 10 games he has played in this season. I'll take plus odds for a 70% hit rate.

Pick: Yordan Alvarez To Record A RBI (+120)

Matt Chapman Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Tigers vs. Blue Jays

To say Matt Chapman has began this season on a heater would be an understatement. He has recorded a hit in nine of 10 games this season and enters play on an eight-game hitting streak. He is hitting .475 with two home runs, 14 RBI and a 1.323 OPS. Chapman is second in the major leagues in batting average and OPS and tied for second in RBI.

Chapman has 19 hits this season and has already recorded six multi-hit games.  Nine of his hits have gone for extra bases with seven doubles and two home runs. His two home runs have come in his last two games. Chapman is now returning home where he hit 19 of his 27 home runs last season. He also had a higher OPS at home at .826 compared to ,693 on the road.

Chapman is 1-for-2 in his career against Matt Manning. He had a solid first start against the Astros, but he also allowed six hits in 5 2/3 innings. Additionally, it does not seem to matter who Chapman is facing right now. I like his chances of getting two bases either with a multi-hit game or one extra base hit

Pick: Matt Chapman Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)

Dodgers vs. Giants

Mookie Betts led off Monday night's game with a home run. He went on to go 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI. Betts had a favorable matchup against Logan Webb, who he is now 12-for-26 (.462) with a home run and two doubles against. Alex Wood is another Giants pitcher who Betts likely looks forward to facing.

Betts is hitting 9-for-18 (.500) with a double, three home runs, and four RBI against Wood. Another leadoff home run would be nice for a quick cash. However, with Betts' track record against Wood, it is likely that he will be on base in some capacity. Including Monday night's game, Betts has cleared this line in four of his last six games. He has a home run and three doubles in that span.

Betts also is entering play tonight on a four-game hitting streak. He also has a hit in nine of his last 10 games. I expect Betts to continue those streaks and also record two total bases in the process.

Pick: Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)

FanDuel Dinger Tuesday Odds:
