Cavaliers vs. Bulls
By Joe Dellera
The Bulls face off against the Cavaliers on Wednesday evening, and I’ll be targeting Coby White.
White has been solid once again for Chicago, despite any trade rumors.
He is averaging 21.7 points per game, and that’s despite three games in a row where he fell short of this number.
Part of this had to do with the Warriors and the Hornets both limiting three-point attempts to a certain degree, and then the match against the Pelicans where he was basically building a house from three-point range brick by brick, as he went 1-for-10 from beyond the arc.
The Cavaliers are without Evan Mobley, which negatively impacts their defense and puts a further strain on Mitchell and Garland as scoring threats.
I expect White to find success against this Cleveland defense tonight.
Last season, he scored 20+ in all three games against the Cavs, and took double-digit three-point attempts in each of those.
I’m expecting plenty of volume from White today, so I’ll back him in this spot.
Pick: Coby White Over 21.5 Points (-110)
Cavaliers vs. Bulls
This is mostly a playing-time fade.
Allen missed a couple of weeks with a finger injury. He came back on Sunday but only played 23 minutes.
Dean Wade closed the fourth quarter as the small-ball center, and then stayed in the game at center for overtime.
That was in a matchup against a Charlotte team that almost always has a traditional center on the floor.
If the size of Ryan Kalkbrenner, Moussa Diabate, and Mason Plumlee didn't bother Cleveland head coach Kenny Atkinson, I don't expect Nikola Vucevic and company to scare him off of the smaller lineup.
Allen is averaging 25.9 minutes per game this season. It's the lowest mark since his rookie year. He's reached 30 minutes in just one game all season.
Allen has gotten a slight rebounding bump (+1.6%) with Evan Mobley off of the floor, but not enough to make up for the lack of a playing-time ceiling.
Wade, Jaylon Tyson, and De'Andre Hunter all had more rebound chances than Allen on Sunday.
Pick: Jarrett Allen Under 9.5 Rebounds (-130)
Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves
By Joe Dellera
Anthony Edwards has missed the Wolves’ last two games with a foot injury, but I’ll back him assuming he plays tonight.
He’s now had nearly 10 days off, and in his last game dropped 40 points against the Suns.
Edwards averages 28.6 points per game, and has cleared this 27.5 line in 9-of-14 games.
He’s played well against the Grizzlies as well. In his last five games against Memphis, he’s scored 44, 32, 15, 34, and 28.
The Grizzlies play at a relatively fast pace, and they’ve been lit up by a few guards recently, including Keyonte George, De’Aaron Fox, and Jamal Murray.
If Ant sits, then we just void, but I figure he plays and should be fresh for this game.
