Celtics vs. Timberwolves
By Kyle Murray
White is coming off a big performance last time out when he scored 27 points, but I think that may have led to a bit of an overreaction on this line.
This is a tough matchup against a T-Wolves team that ranks 12th in defensive efficiency, so I project White for just 16.5 points.
Pick: Derrick White Under 18.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)
Powell led the team with a 26.7% usage rate before Tyler Herro returned. With both guys in the lineup on Wednesday, Powell’s usage fell to 20.3%. It’s just a one-game sample, but Herro looks healthy and ready to take over the offense.
Powell will likely fall back into being the 3rd option offensively behind Herro and Bam Adebayo. It’s a tough matchup against a stingy defense.
Pick: Norman Powell Under 19.5 Points (-115, DraftKings)
Pistons vs. Heat
Davion Mitchell has seen his offensive opportunities dwindle recently since the return of Tyler Herro. He has gone under 8.5 points in three straight games and in four of his past five. He only took two shots in 29 minutes last game, and eight in 32 minutes before that, both with Herro back. Even in the final game before Herro's return, Mitchell shot just six times in 31 minutes.
Mitchell has 10 or more attempts in just five of 19 games this year, and he has only attempted eight free throws and seven threes across his past five outings. It's not really his fault; he's been a legit set-the-table point guard with pitbull perimeter defense, but there are a lot of shots to go around, and he isn't a primary shooting option.
Pick: Davion Mitchell Under 8.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)
