Magic vs Wizards NBA Preview

Tre Johnson over 19.5 points, rebounds and assists is my favorite player prop on the board right now.

I currently have Johnson projected closer to 21 PRA in this spot, giving us a solid edge over the posted number.

The biggest driver here is the absence of Kyshawn George for the Wizards.

With George off the floor, Johnson is set up for a noticeable bump in both efficiency and usage, along with a slight increase in minutes.

From a usage-rate perspective, the only Washington player who benefits more than Johnson when George sits is CJ McCollum.

I strongly considered McCollum here, but Johnson grades out better relative to his number, which ultimately makes this the stronger play.

Magic vs Wizards Prediction, Betting Analysis

The game environment also supports this prop.

The total is sitting at 234 points with Washington as a 6.5-point underdog against the Magic, and there’s a reasonable chance this game stays competitive.

If it does, Johnson should see his full complement of minutes, with some upside for extra run.

Washington plays at a fast pace, which further boosts Johnson’s chances to contribute across the board.

Beyond the usage bump, George’s absence also creates small but meaningful increases in Johnson’s rebound and assist rates, making PRA a particularly good way to attack this matchup.

When you combine the pace, the projected minutes, and the expanded role, everything lines up well for Johnson to clear this number.

Pick: Tre Johnson Over 19.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists (-120)
