Trail Blazers vs Grizzlies NBA Preview

Tonight, the Trail Blazers and Grizzlies will conclude their season series in Memphis.

The home team has won every game thus far, with the Trail Blazers taking a two-game set in Portland last month. That was also the last time Shaedon Sharpe played, while Deni Avidja missed both games due to a lower back injury.

Avdija re-aggravated the back injury against the Suns and has missed all of the last three and essentially the last four games.

Despite the absence of their two leading scorers, the Trail Blazers would be in the Play-In Tournament if the season ended today.

While they will be without Sharpe, Caleb Love, and possibly Avdija and Kris Murray tonight, they did get Scoot Henderson back for the second match against Memphis.

He had 11 points and nine assists and has been averaging 12.8 points and 4.7 assists this season. He has been playing behind Jrue Holiday, who has done his best to keep the offense afloat, averaging 19.3 points and 5.3 assists over his last 11 games.

Portland has a five-game lead over Memphis for the 10th seed, which should hold barring an epic collapse.

The Grizzlies have signaled towards a rebuild, having traded Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. in the last calendar year.

While Ja Morant could be the next one to go, he has been out since January 21st with a UCL sprain in his left elbow. He should be re-evaluated again soon, while Zach Edey underwent season-ending surgery on his left ankle yesterday.

The Grizzlies have been playing a 10-man rotation, with 20-28 minutes per game late. Last night, seven of the 10 players in the rotation scored in double figures.

Walter Clayton Jr. did not join that group, but he had nearly missed a double-double with nine points and nine assists. He has 23 assists in his last two games, as his 14 assists on Sunday were the most by a rookie this season.

Trail Blazers vs Grizzlies Predictions, Betting Analysis

Jrue Holiday Over 17.5 Points and 20+ Points

Holiday missed about two months with a hamstring injury and returned in January.

He needed a bit of time to get going again as he scored 20 just once in 10 games. Then, in the two-game set against Memphis, he scored 20 and 21 points.

Including those two games, Holiday has averaged 19.3 points over his past 11 games. He has scored 18 points in eight of those games, with 20 points in seven of them.

Dating back to his time with the Celtics, he has 18 points in four straight games against Memphis.

The Grizzlies are 22nd in defensive rating over the past 10 games, which should help him get there again.

Donovan Clingan Over 13.5 Rebounds

Despite the hockey-like line changes, the Grizzlies have not been playing with a true center without Edey and after trading Jock Landale.

Last night, Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle combined for 23 rebounds.

Donovan Clingan should have similar success, as he has 11 rebounds in each of his last three games against Memphis, with 17 and 19 in the last two meetings.

GG Jackson II Over 19.5 Points + Rebounds

Following Jaren Jackson's departure, GG Jackson II has taken advantage of the extended playing time.

He is averaging 16.1 points and 6.7 rebounds over his last 10 games.

Jackson has recorded 20 PR in seven of his last eight games.
