We’ve reached the latter stages of the NBA regular season, when the cellar-dwelling teams use their remaining games to continue to develop their young players.

Green and the Rockets are a prime example. The second overall pick is in the midst of his best stretch of the year, averaging 22.6 points and assists in his last 13 games, with a 77% success rate on this line.

After struggling with his shot earlier in the season, the dynamic guard has found his stroke. Shooting 48% from the field and 36% from behind the arc in March, the inefficiencies that plagued him to begin his rookie season are seemingly behind him.

While he’s misfired in two of his last three games against the stellar defenses of the Mavericks and Grizzlies, he now gets a juicy matchup against Portland. Over the last 15 games, the Trailblazers rank last in defensive rating, last in points allowed, and second-to-last in assists allowed.

With the Rockets having nothing to play for, Green’s minutes floor should be relatively stable, regardless of the score. I have the playmaker projected at 24 points and assists tonight.
