Alec Burks over 20.5 PRAs
|Matchup||Bulls at Knicks|
|Time||7:30 p.m. ET|
In a disappointing season for the Knicks, Burks has been thrusted into the role of starting point guard. The 11-year veteran has had an up-and-down season, averaging 18.8 PRA overall, and 21.8 PRA across his 37 starts.
When playing with the first unit, Burks’ hit rate on this line is just a shade over 50% of his games (19 of 37).
The matchup tonight against the Bulls is ideal. Since a strong start to the season, defensively, the Bulls have struggled of late. Over their last 30 games, Chicago ranks 24th defensively, and has allowed the second most PRA to opposing guards.
Chicago’s better defenders, Alex Caruso and a combination of Patrick Williams and Javonte Green, will likely check RJ Barrett and Julius Randle. This leaves Burks with some very winnable matchups.
The Bulls have been susceptible to some big games from complementary guards of late. While we just need an average game from Burks to hit this over, I expect him to put up some reputable numbers in a plus matchup.
I have the Colorado alum projected at 24 PRA.
Pick: Alec Burks over 20.5 points, rebounds and assists (DraftKings). Playable to 21.5.
