Myles Price has basically been Jauan Jennings’ backup, while Felton has been the one backing up Justin Jefferson, so with JJ out I’d expect Felton to be the WR3 behind Addison/Jennings. Josh Oliver being out matters too. The market is already appropriately boosting Hockenson, but it could also mean more 3-WR sets, which would be another path to extra playing time for Felton. The matchup against Miami is good, and the number is low enough that he can clear it on 1-2 catches. A lot of his routes were already designed to get him targeted 13+ yards downfield last weekk, so he doesn’t need to suddenly turn into a JJ clone here to clear this number Felton was a third-round pick last year and has mostly been a special teams player, which obviously isn’t a great sign. He probably needs to show something here or we’re getting pretty close to bust territory (probably already there). But this is also exactly the type of spot where there’s value in taking on some uncertainty before the market fully knows what the role looks like. And this is where the projection stuff gets a little more subjective. JJ is such a good teammate that I’d imagine he’s been in Felton’s ear all week, hyping him up and helping him prepare for his first real chance to produce. That’s obviously not something you can neatly plug into an objective model, especially for a player with almost no meaningful NFL sample yet. I have Felton’s median closer to 18.5 yards, but this is definitely a wide-range outcome bet. At 13.5, I’m willing to buy the opportunity.

Jefferson likely out. I’ll take a swing on Jennings who had 8TD over the final 9 games with SF last season.
