Updated NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Futures
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports
The wait is finally over. The Stanley Cup playoffs are set to begin and hockey fans are in store for some thrilling playoff hockey. Before the puck drops in tonight’s quarterfinal matchups, let’s take a look at the updated Eastern Conference, Western Conference and Stanley Cup Final odds.
Oddsmakers like the chances of a team from the Atlantic Division representing the Eastern Conference in the Cup final. The Lightning (+285) and Bruins (+370) are the favorites to win the East. Pittsburgh is currently priced at +450 to win the Eastern Conference for the third consecutive season. The Flyers (+2000) have the longest odds to emerge from the conference.
The President Trophy-winning Predators and last year’s Stanley Cup Final runner-up are currently listed as the favorites to capture the Western Conference crown. A cluster of Pacific Division teams are priced in the middle of the pack. The Ducks (+1000), Kings (+1025) and Sharks (+1025) all have value to emerge from the conference in my opinion.
Stanley Cup Final
Nashville (+455) edges out Tampa Bay (+485) just slightly for the best odds to win the Stanley Cup before the playoffs get underway. The two-time defending champions are listed at +975 to compete the three-peat. A few teams with longer odds that are worth taking shot on are Winnipeg (+1025), Los Angeles (+2500) and Columbus (+2750).
