Three and a half at home means Dallas has to win by a field goal and change, and the way the two openers broke down says the Cowboys' offense will get there and Washington's won't. Dallas scored 20 in New York, but look at how: seven possessions all game, two after halftime, 52 snaps. When they had the ball they moved it, top-five efficiency for the week (0.
27 EPA per play) with Dak grading out as the fourth-best quarterback in the league on the day. The problem was the pick before half that turned into a Giants touchdown, then New York eating 21:33 of the second half. Dallas didn't have a play longer than 17 yards, and Lamb and Pickens both had balls go through their hands. Last year this offense had at least two 20-yard catches in every single game.
That's the correction coming, and it comes at home against a secondary that just gave up 64 to Wicks and 31 to DeVonta Smith. Washington's issue was the opposite. They had the ball plenty and couldn't do much with it. Jayden Daniels was 6-of-16 for 43 yards at halftime in his first full game in 11 months, and the seven non-scoring drives totaled 50 yards.
The 22 points came from three red-zone trips, all cashed, plus a 12-play drive before half. The run game was fine (132 yards, Croskey-Merritt 16 for 63), but the passing offense succeeded on 38% of Daniels' plays with below-average accuracy, and it's doing it without Laremy Tunsil (triceps, out for months), with Brandon Coleman at left tackle.
Credit where it's due: Washington's defense was legitimately good in Philly. Three sacks of Hurts, Sonny Styles in the backfield, Barkley held to nothing after contact outside his one long run, the Eagles' offense stuck at a 34% success rate.
That's a real unit, and it's the reason this isn't a touchdown. But Dallas has Lamb, Pickens, and a quarterback who was efficient even in a loss, and Washington has an offense that needed a 21-point Eagles cushion to start functioning. Total's 50.5. Dallas gets more than two second-half possessions this time, and that's a win by more than three.

This is the easiest spread play of the week for me.
I make this closer to Dallas -5.5 or -6. Washington is getting slightly overrated in the market because they hung around against a mediocre Eagles team, while the Cowboys are being downgraded after an ugly primetime loss to a Giants squad that may actually be decent.
Yes, the Dallas defense looked awful last week, but Washington is not the team to exploit it. The Commanders have a bottom-five offensive line and no real rushing attack. Dallas interior defensive linemen Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark should dominate the trenches.
Jayden Daniels is going to have to do everything himself, and that just isn't going to be enough.
On the other side, the Klayton Adams offense that everyone loved coming into the season is going to get right in this spot. The Cowboys offense was actually fine last week; their defense just couldn't get off the field, limiting them to six possessions.
Washington has a bottom-five defense that gave up chunk plays to a struggling Philadelphia offense, and Dallas could hang a crooked number on this team.
Dak Prescott as a division favorite of a field goal or more is 25-10 ATS (71%) in his career, covering by an average of 6.7 points per game. And many of those big covers have come against the Commanders.
When Dallas plays Washington, it's rarely close. In their last 15 matchups, nine have been decided by 15+ points, and over half have been 20+ point blowouts.
I am not intimidated by this number, and we are going to play the rivalry history and bet alts too.

THE BLITZ is forecasting 23.52 completions for Jayden Daniels. The oddsmakers' implied projection is 19.71 completions, so I believe there is some value here. If you take the over, you’d be projected to win 75% of the time resulting in a 36% ROI with expected value of $44.65 (based on a $100 wager). This play is good down to at least -190.
