Hawks vs Wizards NBA Preview

The Atlanta Hawks enter tonight’s divisional matchup on a three-game skid — a tough stretch that includes a 99-98 loss to Detroit, a 115-92 defeat against the Clippers, and yesterday’s wild 134-133 loss in Denver.

The Hawks opened that last game on fire, hitting 13 of their first 15 shots and pouring in 41 first-quarter points.

Jalen Johnson was the story of the night, delivering 21 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists, while becoming the first player in Hawks history to record a triple-double by halftime (11-10-12 at the break).

Alexander-Walker finished with 30 points and Kristaps Porzingis had 25, but despite building a 63-40 lead in the second quarter, Atlanta couldn’t close.

A blocked 3-point attempt on the final possession turned into a layup the other way, and the Nuggets ran out the clock to hand the Hawks their third straight loss.

Washington’s situation is far worse.

The Wizards sit at 3-18, the worst record in the East, and are coming off a 146-101 blowout loss to Boston — their largest defeat of the season.

C.J. McCollum scored 22 and Khris Middleton added 15, but the Wizards dropped their tenth straight meeting with the Celtics.

Hawks vs Wizards Prediction, Betting Analysis

This matchup fits the NBA system titled“Reverse Line Movement Unders,” which flags divisional games where the total drops despite heavy public interest on the Over.

Those spots often point to sharp action on an Under because of division familiarity and slower pace.

Atlanta is also on a back-to-back after an emotionally draining loss in Denver, which often leads to tired legs and reduced pace.

Meanwhile, Washington’s offense has been wildly inconsistent, regularly going through multi-minute scoring droughts.
