The first-round playoff series between the Nets and Celtics has certainly gone on longer than most analysts predicted. Boston, playing without All-Star wing Jaylen Brown, managed to steal Game 3 behind a 50-point masterclass in scoring from Jayson Tatum.
Game 4 saw things go back to the status quo, as Brooklyn racked up a ridiculous 141 points on 57.8% shooting in their win.

Boston came into this series with Brooklyn knowing that there is little you can do to slow down the Nets’ trio of stars, and even less you can do when your top wing defender is out.
But even with that being the case, Boston held the Nets to 41.7% shooting and Durant to 10-25 from the field in Game 1. It may have simply been “start-of-playoff-jitters” for the Nets, who have averaged 130.0 points per game (PPG) since that lackluster Game 1 showing.
The Celtics’ season is hanging on by a thread and there doesn’t seem to be much of a reasonable plan for Boston outside of staying out of bad switches –to prevent mismatches — and hoping that Durant, Kyrie Irving and/or James Harden has a poor shooting night.
With Game 5 representing an opportunity for the Nets to wrap this series up and get more preparation time for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, expect Brooklyn to come out firing on all cylinders this Tuesday night.
Our latest PRO Report shows that smart money is trusting the Nets to pull off a clean gentleman’s sweep on Tuesday night.
