Cavaliers vs. Knicks
Donovan Mitchell is shooting more than he ever has (21.4 attempts per game), and even with Mobley possibly back, it's not like we'll see Mitchell drop to the secondary option or anything like that..
Mitchell has scored 30+ points 16 times in 28 games this season, including 14 of 23 with Mobley by his side — and Mobley is expected to be active for this game.
Mitchell is shooting 50/39/85 this season, so his efficiency is impressive given the uptick in raw volume and his usage rating, which is now at 33.1, the second-highest of his career and highest in his Cleveland years.
He's scored 30+ points in eight of his last 14 games, and has been trending the right way as of late, barring two brutally down but outlier performances.
Pick: Donovan Mitchell 30+ Points (-115)
Spurs vs. Thunder
Victor Wembanyama is a showman.
Every time the Spurs need a big performance from Wemby, they get it; whether it’s in a season opener or on Christmas or in the NBA Cup — the bottom line is, he’s a spotlight player.
I think this prop is suppressed because of his lack of minutes recently, but I would imagine that ticks up here.
Plus, Wemby jacked up 16 three-point attempts last Christmas. Wembanyama wants to put on a show and show off his versatility.
So, I'll back Wembanyama to make 2+ three-pointers this Christmas Day.
Pick: Victor Wembanyama Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made (+125)
Mavericks vs. Warriors
By Joe Dellera
The Mavericks face off against the Warriors on Christmas Day in the matchup you may decide is best to eat your dinner during — and Anthony Davis will likely join you in the feast.
Davis has smoked the Warriors over the past few seasons whenever he has played his typical allotment of minutes, posting Points + Rebounds totals of 49, 42, and 42.
The Warriors are fairly weak against opposing bigs and are middle of the road in terms of allowing points in the paint.
Davis is averaging 38.8 PR when he’s played at least 30 minutes, and he should have a similar floor again in this spot on Christmas. He has a positional advantage here. So, I expect AD to dominate.
Pick: Anthony Davis Over 36.5 Points + Rebounds (-115)
Rockets vs. Lakers
By Kyle Murray
It's worth noting that you could wait and see here on whether or not Austin Reaves will be coming off the bench for this one, but I will be betting this prop early, anticipating that he gets back in the starting lineup.
Reaves returned from injury last game, and the Lakers decided to bring him off the bench to monitor his minutes, but Reaves has always been a high minutes player, and I expect he has a good chance to get back into the mid-30s of minutes here.
In that amount of runtime, I have him projected for 21.4 points alone, while also adding 4.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists.
Pick: Austin Reaves Over 26.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-115)
Timberwolves vs. Nuggets
By Matt Moore
Naz Reid leads the Timberwolves in both 3-point attempts and percentage from the corners.
The Nuggets allow the most corner-three-point attempts in the league — a result of how they defend spot-up plays by trying to take away extra passes.
Reid always plays well against Denver. So, I’m expecting a great Christmas game from him on the way to a win for the Wolves tonight.
