NBA Prediction for Timberwolves-Heat & Warriors-Lakers
Our NBA picks back the underdog in both games. Pair them with the NBA betting promos below to boost your opening-night bankroll.
Timberwolves vs. Heat Prediction
Minnesota wins three of the five starting matchups. LaMelo Ball tops Davion Mitchell, Anthony Edwards tops Klay Thompson, and Jaden McDaniels edges Andrew Wiggins.
Miami answers with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo up front, plus the deeper bench. Tim Hardaway Jr. finished third in Sixth Man of the Year voting last season.
Our Timberwolves vs. Heat prediction: Timberwolves moneyline (+100). Edwards, Ball, and Rudy Gobert give Minnesota the top-end firepower, and even money on a near pick’em game is a fair price.
Warriors vs. Lakers Prediction
Steph Curry should play after an ankle scare at Sunday’s open practice, and coach Steve Kerr says he is fine. Still, the 38-year-old played only 43 games last season. Golden State starts without Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, and Kristaps Porzingis. Draymond Green moves to center, and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg gives Kerr extra size.
Los Angeles brings nine new players, including center Walker Kessler, and LeBron James left for Philadelphia. Luka Doncic still carries the offense, but the Lakers ranked second-to-last in preseason rebounding at 39.4 per game.
Our Warriors vs. Lakers prediction: Warriors +6.5 (-115). A team with nine new players and rebounding problems struggles to cover a spread this big on opening night.
