The Minnesota Timberwolves (2-1) and Golden State Warriors (1-2) will face off in Game 4 of their second round NBA Playoff series tonight. Tipoff is set for 10 p.m. ET at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. The game will broadcast live on ESPN.

The Timberwolves are 5.5-point favorites over the Warriors on the spread (Timberwolves -5.5), with the over/under set at 200.5 total points. Minnesota is a -218 favorite to win outright, while Golden State is +180 to pull off the upset.

Watching the Wolves and Warriors slam into one another like drunken goats is not the awesome display of strength and power it should be. Instead, it is more like two drunk dudes with vomit on their shirts throwing haymakers in the parking lot, and we’re all their friends who just want to drive them home and avoid having to bail them out of jail in the middle of the night.

Alas, the series rolls on, and there’s money to be made. Let's get into my Timberwolves vs. Warriors predictions and NBA picks for Monday, May 12.

Timberwolves vs. Warriors Game 4 Preview

Have you ever seen roadkill and get just a little sad? That’s Timberwolves-Warriors. This is a cursed series. Not as in “Steph is out, so we don’t get a great matchup.” As in, “the basketball gods are punishing us by making us watch this series.”

The matchups (without Curry) say Wolves. The trends say Wolves. The spot says Wolves.

The Warriors can’t score. They have a 104.7 offensive rating with Jimmy Butler, their best offensive player, on the floor in this series.

Teams that covered but lost in Game 3 at home are 1-10 SU and 3-8 ATS in Game 4.

The Warriors threw a lot into the previous matchup and came up short. Now, they have to get up again for Game 4 tonight to avoid an elimination game on the road in Game 5… and I like Golden State in this spot.

Look, the Warriors aren't good. They weren’t all that good with Curry. But this kind of team doesn’t win in the playoffs because they’re good. They win because they’re stubborn. And Golden State is stubborn as hell.

Minnesota’s inability to execute isn’t due to a tactical adjustment. I can usually walk you through pick-and-roll coverages, zone elements, and tough offensive off-screen actions.

Nope. The Wolves should absolutely bludgeon this team.

But here’s the thing: without Curry, I still only make this spread Timberwolves +2.4. That’s with a pretty generous bump to the Warriors’ playoff performance and a 2.5-point drop for Curry.

You can think Curry should be worth more, but A.) it’s not like the offense was good when he was healthy, and B.) I was already starting from a low-point with them with Curry.

This is just too many points, just like it was last game. The trends suggest Golden State threw its best punch in Game 4, and now the Wolves just handle business.

At anytime this season, have the Wolves operated like a team that just handles business? And, do the Warriors operate like a team that just gets beat in five games, even without Curry?

This series is going six because the Warriors stole Game 1, and then it’s Curry back at home for Game 6 with a chance to force Game 7.

Timberwolves vs. Warriors Betting Predictions for Game 4

Naz Reid Over 11.5 Points (-110)

Naz had nine points on 3-of-4 from the field and three-point range in Game 3 in only 24 minutes with four fouls, and had a small injury pop up mid-game.

He’ll clear this line in Game 4 tonight.

Donte DiVincenzo Under 15.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-129)

There’s no scenario Golden State wins if DiVincenzo goes over this line.

He’s been awful. It just hasn’t been his playoffs yet.

I’ll bet on that continuing against the Golden State voodoo.

Timberwolves vs. Warriors Game 4 Best Bets

  • Warriors +5.5 (-110)
  • Naz Reid Over 11.5 Points (-110)
  • Donte DiVincenzo Under 15.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-129)
