Army vs Tulane Pick
Army upset lifeless Kansas State. The Knights scored 10 points in the final three minutes of regulation against North Texas to force overtime. They dominated UAB in Charlotte.
However, I think that’s inflated the perception of the team. Specifically, I believe the market is beginning to believe the 2025 Knights are as good as the 2024 Knights.
But that’s not true.
Army is a below-average offensive team. The Knights run the ball like crazy, yet rank 99th nationally in Rush Success Rate and 91st in Rush Explosiveness. They also rank 117th in red-zone scoring.
They aren’t moving the ball consistently, and they’re not generating explosives. So, they’re rarely getting into the red zone, and they’re not scoring touchdowns down there.
Meanwhile, Tulane enters this game on extra rest after playing last Thursday. Not to mention, the Green Wave have revenge on their mind after losing last season’s American Championship game to Army in embarrassing fashion.
Quarterback Jake Retzlaff is dealing, and he should rip apart Army’s below-average secondary.
At anything under double digits, I’ll be backing Tulane.
