Arkansas vs Tennessee Pick

I expect massive improvement for Arkansas this week.

While there aren’t many changes on the depth chart, they’ve scrapped the old defensive game plan and cut the playbook in half, and the players are fired up about it.

I also think interim head coach Bobby Petrino is fired up for this game. I’ve heard stories out of practice that he’s nearly “foaming at the mouth.”

There are plenty of exploitable holes in the Tennessee defense, and Arkansas still boasts a top-notch offensive attack led by quarterback Taylen Green, ranking seventh nationally in Success Rate (51%).

Green should have a huge day running the ball. While Arkansas ranks second nationally in EPA per Rush, the Vols rank 113th nationally in Rush Success Rate allowed.

Tennessee also ranks 131st nationally in Defensive Finishing Drives, and All-American cornerback Jermod McCoy was declared out for the game on Saturday.

I project Arkansas as a 10-point ‘dog and expect the Hogs to cover in Knoxville.

Pick: Arkansas +12.5 (-110, bet365)
