UNLV vs Boise State Game Preview
UNLV games have eclipsed the closing total by an average of 9.8 points per game this season. At the same time, Boise State games have gone 4-2 to the Over.
The Rebels’ defense is getting ripped apart on the ground. While Boise State’s rush attack struggled against Notre Dame and South Florida — two elite rush defenses — the Broncos have run the ball fine against lousy rush defenses, amassing 923 yards at 5.5 yards per carry.
On the other side of the ball, Boise’s defense simply is not fundamentally sound. The Broncos rank 123rd nationally in PFF’s Tackling grades and have struggled mightily to defend dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks (USF’s Byron Brown, Air Force’s Liam Szarka).
While Anthony Colandrea isn’t the most mobile quarterback, he’s an electric off-platform passer who should make life tough on the undisciplined Boise defense.
The Broncos make up for their defensive mishaps by scoring at will, and I expect that to happen again on Saturday against the Rebels.
Pick: Over 62.5 (-110, bet365)
