In his first three games of the season, KC saw 5, 6 and 9 targets, good for a 24.4% target share, but the biggest development has been his playing time. After running a route on 65% of dropbacks in Week 1 and 74% in Week 2, he jumped all the way to 94.7% last week, which checks out for a team wanting to get there first round pick more involved. He also ran 58.6% of his routes from the slot last week, which is exactly where I want him operating for targets.
That's the biggest reason I think this number is stale. This prop closed at 3.5 -150 last week in what was admittedly a very good matchup, but the market hasn't really accounted for the massive increase in playing time. Concepcion has now established himself as a full-time player, and we're still being asked to clear the same 3.5 receptions line.
The matchup itself is relatively neutral. Cleveland is a 2.5-point underdog, so I expect the game script to be at least slightly negative, which should help keep the passing volume elevated. Concepcion is also a short-ADOT player, so I'm much more interested in his reception prop than his yardage. He has a 3.9-yard aDOT this season, and his role is built around underneath work and getting the ball in his hands quickly to capitalize on his ability after the catch.
I also think the Steelers' pass rush makes that particularly relevant. If Cleveland is forced to get the ball out quickly, Concepcion's role fits exactly what I want in that type of environment.
The rookie has already shown he can command targets, and now he's playing essentially every passing snap. At 3.5, I think the market is still pricing him like the part-time player we saw in Weeks 1 and 2 rather than the full-time receiver he became last week.

I’m backing the under in a matchup between two offenses that have been brutal to watch. Pittsburgh’s offense is inefficient, and Aaron Rodgers isn’t consistently producing the explosive plays needed to make up for it. He offers virtually nothing as a runner at this stage, leaving this offense dependent on winning from the pocket and putting together sustained drives. Against this Cleveland defense, I don’t trust them to do that consistently. Deshaun Watson may be getting it done in the win column, but actually watching these games tells a different story. Watson ranks 20th out of 32 qualified quarterbacks in EPA/dropback. Too many of his passes feel lucky to avoid being intercepted, and he no longer provides the running threat that made him so dangerous in Houston. The wins haven’t changed my opinion of how difficult it is for this offense to move the ball consistently. Cleveland is also dealing with offensive line injuries, which will only make Watson’s life more difficult against this Pittsburgh defensive line. While I dislike both offenses, I really like both defenses. Pittsburgh ranks seventh in defensive DVOA, and Cleveland is littered with young defensive talent, including Jared Verse, a player I love. Both units should be able to pressure quarterbacks who offer very little ability to escape and create with their legs. The primetime setting adds another angle, with primetime unders hitting at a 59.5% rate since 2019. This is also a divisional matchup between familiar opponents, which adds to my expectation of a physical game where both offenses have to earn their points. These teams know each other well, and Browns unders are 26-17 (60%) since 2021. Our model projects only around 32 total points, giving us roughly 6.5 points of value at the current total of 38.5. This total is very low, but I still think it’s too high for these offenses. Give me the under.

THE BLITZ is forecasting 0.55 interceptions for Deshaun Watson compared to 0.82 interceptions implied by sportsbooks, so I believe there is some value here. If you take the under, you’d be projected to win 67% of the time, resulting in a 35% ROI. Based on a $100 wager, the expected value here would be $34.53. This play is good down to at least -139.
