While Geno Smith has exceeded 34.5 pass attempts in three straight games, he’s only cleared this figure in four of 13 contests.
Injuries have helped him go over of late – in Week 13, Kenneth Walker exited early with an ankle issue, which caused the Seahawks to abandon the run. In Week 14, they were without both Walker and backup DeeJay Dallas, who was also dealing with an ankle injury.
Tonight, however, Walker is off the injury report and I expect Seattle to be more balanced as a result. Given that I also like the Seahawks to cover the spread (+3.5), this correlates perfectly.
The 49ers, who have allowed the third-fewest plays per game, should limit the overall number of plays run. On offense, they are adept at engineering long drives with their slow pace and efficient, run-heavy attack. Look for them to lean on the run heavily and keep Seattle’s offense on the sideline.
I’m projecting Smith around 32.5 pass attempts. Every attempt is worth around 6-7%, so it’s critical to get this prop at 34.5. I don’t mind 33.5 either, but I obviously don’t like that as much.
