Rockets put up just 85 in Game 1 — fewest playoff pts since 2016. Rockets’ defense thrives at home: 107.2 opp PPG, 45.0% FG allowed. Slow pace clear — 87 FGA for HOU, 80 for GSW. Under hit 8 of last 11 in HOU. Physical game, limited transition, tight halfcourt sets.
Rockets pulled 22 OREBs, but just 22 second-chance pts — all effort, no finish. Shot 39.1% FG, 20.7% from deep. Looks were clean, but execution off. Warriors held them in check with 110.2 opp PPG on season. Even w/ better shooting, expect low output.
Both teams avg ~113 PPG, but defenses steady: HOU 109.6 opp PPG, GSW 110.2. Rockets dominate glass (14.7 OREB/gm), slowing Warriors’ fastbreak. Sengün shot 61.1% in G1, but overall efficiency weak. Intensity rises in G2 — scoring won’t.
HOU -2.5-110

Rockets crashed the glass in Game 1 – 22 OREBs to Warriors’ 6. Only turned it into 22 second-chance pts. Shot 39.1% FG, 20.7% from 3 – wide open looks missed. Sengün was efficient: 26 pts on 61.1%. If shooting regresses to the mean, offense bounces back strong.
Defense solid all year – 109.6 opp PPG, 45.9% FG. Even better at home: 107.2 PPG, 45%. Held Warriors to 95 in Game 1. Fought back from down 23, cut to 4 late. Late-game D, home crowd, and urgency = edge. Warriors offense didn’t overwhelm – Rockets kept pace.
Slow playoff tempo coming again. Rockets avg 14.7 OREBs, GSW just 12.5. Under hit in 8 of last 11 at Toyota. HOU 29-13 at home, defense locks in. Missed layups + wide open threes are easy fixes. With those cleaned up, Rockets should take Game 2 tight.

Down to 7.1rpg last 2 playoffs after 10.0 previous 100 playoff games, down to career low 6.1 this year. Just tough sledding vs Sengun Adams Amen and at 5.4 vs Houston under in 4/5. Always possible an easy under too with fouls or techs.

4/19 for 10pts G1, more of the same for him so back to the well. 9.0ppg vs GSW now under in all 5g, and under this in 12/17 since start of Feb. 22% FG vs GSW, might just be age/size profile catching up and exhausted chasing Ws motion all game on D.

Going back to this one. Moody finished with 10 PRA over 28 minutes in Game 1 but Warriors were in control from the 2nd quarter onward so they didn’t need to make any changes to rotation. Rockets are 3-point favorites in Game 2 as of this writing and I suspect they make adjustments.
Podz (35 mins), Draymond (37 mins), Curry (40 mins) and Butler (42 mins) barely left the court. If Warriors need to make an adjustment like play more GPII or more Looney to combat Steven Adams who nearly double-doubled in his 20 mins, I think Moody would be the most at risk to lose minutes.
